Photobiomodulation: Radiant Intervention for Stress in Epilepsy (PBM RISE)

Natasha Nesic is helping advance innovative research examining the potential role of transcranial photobiomodulation (PBM) in supporting individuals living with epilepsy. This groundbreaking investigation explores whether non-invasive red and near-infrared light therapy can enhance the brain’s response to stress, improve physiological regulation, and contribute to a better quality of life when used alongside standard epilepsy care. The study combines advanced neurophysiological assessment, wearable biometric monitoring through the Õura Ring, and comprehensive metabolic testing to evaluate changes in sleep, autonomic nervous system function, cellular health, and overall well-being. Conducted across research sites in Miami, Cincinnati, Houston, and Warren, this project reflects Natasha’s commitment to translating emerging neuroscience into meaningful, evidence-informed interventions for complex neurological conditions and improving outcomes for individuals living with epilepsy.
