Hypnosis and Biofeedback in Treatment of Chronic Lower Back Pain

This research presentation explores the integration of hypnosis and biofeedback as complementary, evidence-based approaches for the treatment of chronic low back pain. Drawing upon psychophysiological, neuroscientific, and clinical research, Natasha Nesic examines how these modalities influence pain perception, autonomic nervous system regulation, muscle tension, and self-regulation. The work highlights emerging evidence suggesting that combining hypnotic interventions with biofeedback training may enhance treatment outcomes beyond either approach alone by addressing both the psychological and physiological dimensions of chronic pain. By advocating for a multimodal, biopsychosocial framework, this research contributes to the growing conversation on innovative, non-invasive strategies for improving pain management, resilience, and quality of life in individuals with chronic pain conditions.
