Effectiveness of Hypnosis in the Treatment of Alcohol Dependance

This scholarly research presentation examines the historical development, clinical applications, and effectiveness of hypnosis as a treatment modality for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). Through a comprehensive review of the literature, Natasha Nesic explores how hypnosis has been utilized for over a century to support addiction recovery, enhance motivation for change, reduce cravings, strengthen coping skills, and improve long-term treatment outcomes. The presentation highlights a range of evidence-based hypnotic techniques—including guided imagery, ego strengthening, reframing, self-hypnosis, and solution-focused interventions—and discusses their role within integrative addiction treatment programs. This work reflects Natasha’s interest in mind-body medicine and innovative psychophysiological approaches that address the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and physiological dimensions of recovery.
